The Kasson-Mantorville girls basketball team defeated Mankato West last week at home 52-39.
K-M went into halftime with a 24-19 lead.

Krekling surpasses 200 career wins

The Hayfield/Schaeffer Academy girls basketball team defeated Blooming Prairie and Rushford-Peterson last week.
In its 59-55 win over Rushford-Peterson, Maggie Hansen had 11 points, Jenna Christopherson had eight points, Avi Alexander had seven points, Gabby Buehler had two points, Betsy Gillette nine points, Lily Morrisey had 12 points, and Frieda Rutz had 10 points.

Triton falls to Chatfield in section tourney

The Triton wrestling team defeated GMLOS but lost to Chatfield in the second round in the Section 1A tournament last weekend.
In the matchup against GMLOS Kaiden Adreon won the 107 pound weight class on a fall, Adriana Kunz won the 114 pound weight class on a fall, Theo Kispert won the 121 pound weight class on a fall.

Westfield falls in section semifinals

Westfield wrestling saw its dual season come to a close last week after falling 38-27 on the road to the WEM/JWP Grizzlies.
The Razorbacks started fast with a 6-0 lead courtesy of a second period pin by Elijah Butteris, but couldn’t find the wins it needed in a dual that was close down to the final match.

Area wrestlers headed to state tourney

Multiple girl wrestlers from the area are headed to the state tournament as individuals, including multiple wrestlers who won section championships last weekend.
Triton’s Adriana Kunz won every match in the section tournament, to win the 100 pound weight class.
Byron had five girls who placed at the Section tournament.

Byron’s Brian scores 1,000 career points

The Byron boys basketball team defeated Rochester Lourdes 89-58 in its most recent matchup.
Byron was led by Will Brian who scored 26 points, including his 1,000 career point.
Colin Hansen 18, Max Dearborn had 11 points, Fisher Kruckeberg and Isaac Scharpman each had eight points.
 

Triton defeats Hayfield

The Triton boys basketball team defeated Hayfield 93-50 last week.
Triton was led by William Thiemann who had 17 points, four rebounds, and three assists in the win.
Pierce Petersohn had 15 points, Christian Valdez had 14 points, Graden Thomas had 11 points, and Mitchell Peterson had 10 points in the win.
For Hayfield Rylan Nelsen had 18 points, Charlie Walker had 15 points, and Christian Mealy had eight points.
