Youth hockey group seeking to expand ice arena

Citing the rapidly growing interest in youth hockey, the Dodge County Youth Hockey Association has approached the county board about expanding the ice arena in Kasson.

Kasson City Council chooses new city administrator

Theresa Coleman of Lanesboro is the new Kasson city administrator.
The Kasson City Council interviewed the top two city administrator candidates before its Oct. 14 regular meeting and voted to hire Coleman. 

KoMets run strong at K-M Invitational

The Kasson-Mantorville/Triton cross country team has had a stellar season for both the boys and girls. However, one accomplishment that was alluding them throughout the year was having an individual win a race. That box was checked off last Tuesday when Brennan Gustafson won in front of a hometown crowd at the K-M Invitational.

KoMets send Bears into hibernation

The last time the Kasson-Mantorville football team faced off with Byron, the game had everything a high school fan could ask for. There was a Hail Mary that the KoMets converted before halftime, a clutch stop late in the game and a clutch drive that allowed K-M to come away with a 28-25 victory.

Shirley F. Worden, 66, of Hayfield

Shirley F. Worden, 66, passed away on Sunday evening, October 11, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus. Inurnment was in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.
A  memorial service for Shirley F. Worden was held on Oct. 16, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church in Hayfield. Rev. Dr. Steve Robertson officiated.  

Yvonne S. Durben, 92, Rochester

Yvonne Shirley Durben, 92 passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Oct. 11, 2015 at Homestead of Rochester.

Evelyn Delphine Moreland, 95, of Rochester, formerly of West Concord, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, at Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth where she had resided since March 2012.

Thomas Donnelly IV, 63, Geneva

Thomas Desmond Donnelly IV, Geneva, died Oct. 5, 2015. Tom was born on Oct. 15, 1951, on an island just east of Ireland to Thomas and Elizabeth Donnelly.
He spent his childhood in England, Okinawa, Texas, and graduated from Dugway High School in Utah where he was on the varsity teams for football, basketball and golf.
