Dodge Center women celebrate 50 years of friendship, cards

For 50 years a group of women from Dodge Center have gotten together once a month to play the card game 500. They started playing on Wednesday evenings as their husbands would have men’s night at the golf club. They called themselves the Robe Card Club as they would wear a bathrobe when playing. They have now given up on that attire.

The Byron girls basketball team started its season with a.5 60-49 win over Mankato West last week.

Local martial artists bring home national honors

Kelly’s Tae Kwon Do of Kasson Minnesota participated in a national Chung Do Kwan Invitational tournament in Fishkill, New York this month. The tournament included participants from the New York City region as well as schools from as far as Florida and Minnesota.

Lloyd William Rohwer, 96, Dodge Center

Lloyd William Rohwer, 96, of Dodge Center, MN, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Circle Drive Manor Assisted Living in West Concord.
Lloyd was born on September 5, 1928, to William F. and Mable (Barwald) Rohwer in Dodge Center. Lloyd attended District #53 Country School and graduated from Dodge Center High School in 1945.
