Youth 1st Conduct Award teaches sportsmanship

Youth 1st is handing out around 60 awards this summer to teams around Southern Minnesota, and while the award may have the word “winning” in it, the trophy has nothing to do with victories. 
The Real Winning Team Award honors teams for their outstanding sportsmanship during summer tournaments. This involves players’ conduct on the field, but it also includes coaches and even fans.

Breakfast and lunch favorites are now being served at Bunkies Grille and Lanes in Blooming Prairie. Food has returned to Bunkies from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. seven days a week and this brings a wide smile to Aaron Ressler, proprietor of the grille, bowling lanes and golf simulator on East Main Street.

The penalty for driving around drunk is going to become potentially harsher beginning this coming weekend.
On Aug. 1, Minnesota’s DWI laws are going to change to reflect what some have viewed as a loophole for several years. The threshold for one of the enhanced penalties in the law will drop from .20 to .16.
