Saturday’s spring game for the University of Minnesota’s football program was the official start for the P.J. Fleck era as the Gophers head coach.
For former Owatonna standout Andrew Stelter, it was the final time – barring any injuries in fall camp that could enable the use of a medical redshirt – that he will throw on the maroon and gold to cap spring practices. Although, when asked he simply said he was focused on competing.

I remember, because that was the last time I saw my beautiful red 1996 Ford Ranger pickup truck.We were bailing up Highway 218 south of Austin, heading to Winona for a fun day with friends.

Minneapolis- After dropping the last two games by wide margins, the Owatonna baseball team was off to U.S. Bank Stadium to compete in a nonconference tilt with Mankato East.
An argument could be made that the change of venue sparked the Huskies. Although, the correct argument may be that their ace was on the mound.

After giving up three runs on the top of the seventh inning, the Owatonna High School softball team was just three outs away from having surrending the lead late for the second-straight game.
Then, with Rilee Schmidt straddling first after a walk, Kenzie Karsten belted a triple to tie the game at 9-9 with no outs.
