David “Dave” Dickie died peacefully at the age of 84 Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019 at Prairie Meadows (Rose Court) in Kasson under hospice care provided by St. Croix Hospice. Dave had fought Parkinson’s disease for the past eight years. 
Services will be held Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019 at the Dodge Center Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 410 3rd Ave SW, Dodge Center, with the visitation at 2 p.m. and the service at 3 p.m. 

Joanne M. Chicos, 80, of West Concord, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2019 at Fairview Care Center, Dodge Center.

Having won only two games last season, the 2019 Triton football team has eclipsed that mark in just four games by beating Dover-Eyota 34-20 on Friday, Sept. 20.
            The Cobras scored the first touchdown of the game on a 27-yard touchdown pass from Austin Melder to Jaxon Sackett.
            Triton then increased its lead to 13-0 when Melder once again hit Sackett, this time a 40-yard touchdown pass.

This wasn’t the way they drew it up, but the Kasson-Mantorville football team seemingly hasn’t missed a beat despite two team members suddenly taking over two of the most important positions on their team. 

All night long it was hard fought game, but in the end it was the Mankato East Cougars who prevailed as they took advantage of a long interception return to score the game-winning touchdown and beat Byron 35-28.
Byron Head Coach Ben Halder said he was pleased with how the Bears came out in the first quarter.
“We played with a sense of purpose to begin the game. The coaching staff was very happy,” he said.

Kindergarten students in the Triton schools got a first hand look at fall’s produce last week as they headed to Dave Hanson’s apple orchard in Dodge Center.

On Sunday, Sept. 15, people from five nations gathered at Church! of the Nazarene, located on Mantorville Avenue just south of the railroad tracks in Kasson.
