One thing is for certain with everybody being hunkered down while dodging the coronavirus. We definitely have extra time on our hands.
Let me see, which house project should I choose on the list of more than 100 that I have compiled over the past few years. That seems to be the burning question around our house as of late. Perhaps you’re facing the same challenge.

Sitting right in the middle of corn, hog, and cattle growing country, it’s hard for me to believe that the food we eat for breakfast is brought to our tables by a Chinese company. That’s right, Communist China, the People’s Republic of China, Red China, home of COVID-19 and the World Health Organization.

Gladys Evelyn Hopkins, 91, of West Concord, was called home on Saturday, April 25, 2020, while residing at Circle Drive Manor, West Concord.

Joyce M. Snow, 84, of Columbia, MO passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday, April 22, 2020.
Joyce was born in Gregory, SD to Henry and Clara (Rohwer) Snow. She was raised in Kasson, graduated from the University of Minnesota and was the postmaster in Prairie Home, MO. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling and playing bridge and dominoes with her friends.

Terry Neil Vatland passed away at his home in Kasson on April 21, 2020 at the age of 74.
Terry is survived by his children Eric Vatland (Janet), Kara Roberts (Charles), Kurt Vatland; his brother LaDue Vatland (Darlene) and sister Carol Thomas (Eugene); and his grandchildren Hannah, Erin and Lily Vatland, Ian Egele, Sawyer Roberts and Aubrey Smith. 

The news that many student-athletes, especially the seniors, were dreading became official late last week: all activities and athletics for the spring season were canceled.
It was a gut punch to many local students who were clinging to hope that at least part of the season could be salvaged.

Once the cruise ship docked in Athens and our tour group was gathered, it was off to check in at our hotel. We met our guide, James, who would be with us for the next five days, and headed to the Acropolis in Athens.  
Sitting high on the hill is the Parthenon which was built over 2,500 years ago and dedicated to the goddess Athena.   

The Kasson City Council discussed the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic may have on beloved summer activities, such as swimming and festivals, during its meeting on Wednesday, April 22.
Dan Eggler, council appointee to the Park and Recreation Commission, said there was quite a bit of discussion about the Kasson Aquatic Center at the recent park board meeting.

Roger Hanson was born April 25, 1918 on a farm near the Oslo area and his parents were Albert and Gena Hanson. 
She was the lutefisk queen preparing the fish for 38 years for the annual lutefisk supper at St John’s Lutheran Church and also helped train in “new” volunteers like Mary Hegna and Mike Berge. His mother lived to age 95 1/2 while his dad passed at age 77 and his brother Levern lived to age 92.
