First day of spring…
The first day of spring was two weeks ago Wednesday when temperatures struggled to get out of the teens. The scenery is a far cry from last year when there was not a trace of snow on the ground. Even with an accumulation of snow that did not prevent track athletes Jake Heimer, Mark Ostroot (front), Ben Colvin and Ross Wagner from going for a run down Mantorville Avenue. The spring sports teams have already had two-plus weeks of gym time.

Kindergarten raises money for Pet Rescue
The K-M kindergarten has raised over $600 for the local Pet Rescue. This is the fourth year the kindergarten has raised money for the noon-profit organization. As a reward, the students attended a free movie at the Kasson State Theatre for their efforts. The students and kindergarten staff saw “Jungle Book II” last Friday. Delores Carrico from the Pet Rescue accepted a check presented by Nicole Bjerke from the Kasson State Theatre. The theatre donated the free movie showing to the students for their fundraising efforts.
