Then & Now

Drying clothes on clothes lines and rocks has been done for thousands of years before going "green" was even thought about. Both of these Kasson main street hardware stores have been gone for many years. Erickson Hardware was located in the now empty lot next to the former Kasson Drug Store and was destroyed in a fire along with the bakery and appliance store 30 years ago. Lay-Away plans are once again being advertised by some stores once again as a way to stretch out the payments. The Diners Club charge card started in 1950 but credit cards did not become used until the late 1960s and 1970's. Ads are from the 1957 DCI newspaper archives.
