Here are a couple of the ads in a 1954 DCI newspaper. Barry Dibble said they discontinued the furniture store of the Dibble Funeral Home business around 1990. Many early furniture makers built coffins as a sideline business so many funeral homes also handled furniture. Insurance to cover TV set tube replacement was available and those sets were much different than today's flat screen TVs. In the early 1950's when commercial TVs became available, a 16-inch set was the biggest size and in the 1970's it grew to 25-inch sets with 21-inch sets becoming more common in the homes.
