Local Legion baseball teams came up short last week
It was a tough week for Legion baseball teams from Dodge County as Byron, Kasson-Mantorville and Dodge Center all came up short.
Byron legion Post 119 loses two
The American Legion boys from Byron Post 119 lost to Albert Lea, 2-1, on Wednesday, July 6. On Thursday, Stewartville defeated Byron, 3-1.

DC Legion baseball boys lose to Pine Island
Dodge Center Post 384 baseball team was on the short-end of a 10-1loss to Pine Island on Thursday, July 7. Zak Bodenstab pitched four innings and surrendered seven runs. Bronson Freerksen pitched three innings and gave up three runs. DC’s only run was scored by Boe Munnikhuysen, on an RBI single by Bronson Freerksen. The Dodge Center hitters struggled all day, picking-up just three hits and striking out fourteen times. The Cobras played solid defense, but Pine Island did a good job drawing walks and getting timely hits. DC is back in action for their last regular season game on Monday vs. Hayfield, and playoffs start Thursday (tonight).
