We’re on the move
We’ve lost our lease.
Yep, we have to vacate our office by February 28.
Our building’s owner wants to develop other businesses in the entire building.
This spot on Main Street has been home to the DCI and ADvantage for the past five years. Let’s call it familiar.
Owners Ed and Tina Butler anticipate making 121 West Main Street into a totally different business format. (No details at this time, but when the Butlers decide to release their ideas, we’ll get a jump on it all.) They have been gracious landlords during the time the DCI has made this home.
We’re moving to the old Shopko building on South Mantorville Avenue, in what is now the Plaza 57, Suite 200.
Our lease agreement with Key Builders president Brad Clemens was signed last week. Because this was kinda sudden, we have to scramble and request a move-in date as close to Friday, Feb. 26 as possible.
It’s kind of like moving to a new neighborhood and new house. Gotta be sure to contact the utilities – water, power, gas and KMTelecom for phone and internet.
All this started on January 31, the date of the termination notice.
Key Builders said they’d pull permits, begin framing and positioning electrical outlets in our new digs.
DCI staff is excited. Editor Karen Jorgensen and Paula Oates let out a howl of approval. Why? Our new digs will be right next to Cups & Cones Ice Cream, one of their favorite food groups.
We’re letting you know now, so you’ll not be surprised when we’re just a few blocks away.
Our hope is to be moved into the new unit before our lease expires here.
We know it’s going to take some getting used to, but there’ll be plenty of parking and everyone can join us once we’re settled in and take a look around.

CHANGE
We are chameleons, and our partialities and prejudices change places with an easy and blessed facility, and we are soon wonted to the change and happy in it. We do not regret our old, yellow fangs and tushes after we have worn nice fresh uniform store teeth a while.
