Breaking News: Father charged in connection with body found near Blooming Prairie

Nearly a year after a 2-year-old’s body was found dumped in a ditch outside Blooming Prairie, the girl’s father has been charged in her death.
The Mower County Attorney’s Office has filed second-degree murder charges against Dariaz Higgins of Milwaukee. He is accused of killing Noelani Robinson by “blunt force trauma to the head.” 
According to murder charges filed, Higgins claimed that Noelani died after she fell off a toilet inside a motel in Austin. He also told authorities that she had been dead for “a couple of days” before he left the motel and placed her body in the ditch during a blizzard.
The autopsy determined that Noelani died from “non-accidental blunt force trauma” and “multiple injuries to her head,” contrary to Higgins’ statement.
Higgins also faces murder charges for shooting Noelani’s mother, Sierra Robinson, in Milwaukee. Higgins is in custody in Milwaukee.
Noelani’s body was wrapped in a blanket when a passerby found her remains in a ditch about one mile north of Blooming Prairie last March.
