DCI makes leadership changes

The Dodge County Independent is undergoing major changes in the leadership of the newspaper.
Owner Rick Bussler has re- linquished his publisher duties to Keith Hansen,
who joined the DCI in December as associate publish- er. In his expanded role as publisher, Hansen will be responsible for the entire day-to-day operations of the newspaper. He will have oversight
of all advertising sales matters and managing of the ADvantage shopper, which had been previous- ly handled by Annie Anderson.
Anderson’s future with the company is still being determined.
“Change has been long overdue,” Bussler acknowledged. “Part of what hampered my effort to make drastic change was finding a strong professional willing to work at a smaller operation like the DCI. Keith has been a godsend for us.”
Bussler continued to say, “Keith is a bull dog and has a strong passion for community journalism. He is connecting with the communities
of Dodge County and Byron in ways that will make the DCI a stronger newspaper going forward. I am excited to have him take on this new role.”
The other major change is the promotion of Karen M. Jorgensen as news editor of the DCI. This position has been open since last September when Alex Malm left the paper.
