BREAKING NEWS:Schlichting choice of Triton board for superintendent

Triton School Board members chose Triton High School Principal Craig Schlichting as the next superintendent Wednesday evening.The board had been scheduled to interview two finalists for the position, Schlichting and Jackson County Central School District Superintendent Todd Meyer, Wednesday afternoon.After interviewing Schlichting, Board Chair Rebecca Knutson announced that Meyer had contacted the board and said he had accepted another position.The board then met Wednesday evening to decide whether to offer the position to Schlichting or re-open the search. Contingent on successful contract negotiations, Schlichting will begin his new duties on July 1.
