Meth, scales, syringes, found during traffic stop in Dodge County

 
A Kasson man was charged with Fifth Degree Drug Possession after drugs, scales and syringes were found during a traffic stop in Dodge County on Jan.12.
 
According to the complaint, James Lee Nelson, 41, was observed by a Dodge County Deputy, traveling 45 mph in a 30 mph zone, weaving within in the lane, touching the fog line on the road way.
 
Nelson then abruptly pulled over on the shoulder of the road, and the deputy then stopped the vehicle.
 
When approached by the driver, Nelson stated “I don’t have a driver's license.” According to the complaint Nelson’s drivers license is currently revoked.
 
While speaking with Nelson, the deputy observed that he was nervous and would not make eye contact with him. On the floor of Nelson’s vehicle the deputy observed a bottle of whisky, but Nelson denied any consumption of drugs or alcohol.
 
Nelson then stated that the vehicle wasn’t his, but there may be something in the backpack that was illegal. Nelson agreed that the deputy could search the backpack and found the following items: partially consumed bottle of windsor alcohol, two black digital scales with white residue which NIK tested positive for meth, a black case with multiple used syringes which NIK tested positive for meth, a small baggie which NIK tested positive for .094 grams of meth, multiple baggies with residue on them, and new and used syringes.
 
Nelson was arrested and since has been released from jail.
