Breaking News:Two charged in Dodge County theft

Two men were arrested and  charged in Dodge County on Thursday after allegedly stealing chainsaws from a  Dodge County home.
 
According to the complaints filed in court a Dodge County Deputies were dispatched to a burglary in progress. They were informed that the victim had two chainsaws taken from the garage and placed in a vehicle that left the property.
 
A Sergeant with the Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect’s vehicle and pulled the vehicle over. During the stop a deputy was able to see two chainsaws in the back of the vehicle.
 
The two people in the car were identified as Austin Bruce and Jesse Corson. They were both removed from the car and the Sergeant searched the vehicle. During the search the Sergeant found a white drug pipe that was discolored and near the used bowl, which field tested positive for methamphetamine.
 
Also found was a SanDisk bag that contained a plastic bag with with a substance that field tested as 2.1 grams of methamphetamine with packaging.
 
The Deputy spoke to Corson regarding the theft and stated that he and Bruce left his residence and he fell asleep. When he woke up, they were at a farmhouse in the country and Bruce was walking around the property and returned to the vehicle with two chainsaws, placed them in the backseat and drove away. Corson stated he never left the vehicle and stayed in the passenger seat the whole time. The Deputy questioned Corson about the drugs found in the car and denied that they were his.
 
According to the complaint, the Sergeant spoke to Bruce regarding the theft and he stated that he and Corson were running out of gas so they stopped at a residence and knocked on the door. When he went back to the vehicle Corson was exiting the garage with chainsaws and placed them in the backseat of the vehicle and they left the residence. He also denied the drugs were his.
 
As of Thursday they both were jailed in the Steele County Detention Center.
