Care and Share fundraiser raises over 26k for children in need

The annual Kasson Area Carend Share Auction and Fundraiser was once again this year, taking place last week.
During the annual fundraiser over $26,000 in proceeds were raised.
Mark Matuska, one of the co chairs for the event this year, said that he is once again
pleased with the support that came out from the community.
“The overwhelming response from the communities of Kasson and Mantorville and surrounding areas were once again phenomenal,” said Matuska.
For Matuska, the Superintendent of KM Schools, the amount of generosity that comes from the community never is a surprise to him.
“It never ceases to amaze me how generous the people and businesses in the community are no matter what the cause,” Matuska said.
While the main fundraisers during the event come from the silent and live auctions, other aspects come from people making cash donations, as well as tickets sold for the dinner, and also tickets sold during the raffle.
Regardless of how people helped Matuska said that they are thankful for everyone who chipped in.
“A special thanks goes to all the donors and bidders and everyone who chipped in to volunteer we couldn’t have done it without you,” said Matuska.
