Row your way to success

The theme for the 2018 Souteast Areea  Fall Meeting was “Row Your Way to Success.”
The FCCLA Fall Meeting was held on Oct. 24th, at the Kasson Mantorville High School in Kasson. The area meeting was planned by the four area officers: Emilee Terry from Kasson Mantor- ville; Minnesota State Peer Ed. Team member, Dalton Maxwell from Kasson-Mantorville; Vice President, Rowen Sween from Grand Meadow; JHC, Lucca Sween from Grand Meadow; JHC. Southeast Area is very fortunate to have three state officers representing our
area at the state level: State
Treasurer Kieran Sween from Grand Meadow, Vice President of Resource and Development Ava Holtz from Kasson Mantorville and State Vice President of Public Relations Matthew Harfmann from Kas- son Mantorville.
Our Keynote speaker was Jamie Heidt head wrestling coach at Kasson Mantorville.
Jamie spoke with the CCLA members about having a winning attitude. The speaker was able to provide students with some valuable tips on how
to stay positive and work for what you want.
We were very fortunate to have such a dynamic speaker that was able to get the FCCLA members involved and help them see the importance of
the leadership they are show- ing in school. Following the speaker participants had the opportunity to participate in some minute to win it activi- ties. These activities were meant to focus get the mem- bers up and moving and work- ing as a team.
Chapter members from seven area schools attend the meeting: Blooming Prairie, Goodhue, Kasson-Mantorville, Kenyon-Wanamingo, United South Central, Grand Meadow, Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton,
Pine Island Senior, and Randolph.
During this meeting the 2018-19 state theme “Land of 10,000 Dreams” was presented by the state and area officer team. Following the opening session, members attended a variety of roundtables after lunch. The Round tables focused on FCCLA national programs: Community Service, Financial Fitness, Competitive Events, FACTS, Student Body and STOP the Violence.
The FCCLA members had a fun packed day which included a great deal of learning.
The members learned many ideals to bring back to their chapter and get their chapter off to a great start. Members left with many ideas on how to use this year’s state theme “Land of 10,000 Dreams” to impact their schools and communities.
