BREAKING NEWS: Olmsted County Sheriff reveals alleged misconduct of a Kasson police officer
The Olmsted County Sheriff, along with Kasson Police Chief Kent Berghuis and Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose, revealed that Kasson police officer Juan Baez has been involved in alleged misconduct for more than 25 years at a press conference in Rochester Thursday morning.
The investigation centers on allegations of criminal sexual conduct occurring over many years to multiple victims against Baez, Olmsted Sheriff Kevin Torgerson said at the press conference. Investigators believe the alleged misconduct started back in 1992 and occurred in various counties, including Dodge and Olmsted.
At this time the investigation has revealed only one incident of domestic abuse that occurred while Baez was working in an official capacity as a Kasson police officer. That incident allegedly took place in 2004, the same year he began as an officer in Kasson.
Baez is expected to be arraigned Thursday morning at 10:30 in Olmsted County.
The DCI will have more details as they become available.
