UPDATE- Wenthold held in Hayfield shooting

UPDATE:
Larry Robert Wenthold is in custody following an explosive incident in Hayfield Wednesday afternoon.
Wenthold was wanted by U.S. Marshalls in South Dakota for failing to register as a sex offender.  The suspect has a history of assault, and weapons possession, and had recently made threats against law enforcement claiming he would not be arrested without a fight. 
When a joint operation of the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshal Service and the North Star Fugitive Task Force authorities approach Wenthold, he fled in a car. An unnamed Olmsted County deputy fire his weapon and suffered minor injuries in the incident.
 Two law enforcement vehicles and one civilian vehicle were damaged and the apartment building sustained extensive damage. Dodge County Emergency Management assisted with the building and housing for those apartment occupants displaced due to the structural damage. 
Authorities in Piedmont, South Dakota, where Wenthold allegedly has a extensive record, would not elaborate on his connection to the area, only saying that he, “frequented our area.”
Wewnthold will be arraigned on Friday.

Shots were fired this afternoon after law enforcement attempted to serve a warrant on a man in Hayfield, authorities have said.
The suspect was taken into custody about 4 p.m.
