Why Donald Trump must not be elected

There are three primary reasons I believe Donald Trump must not be elected President.
The most serious problem our nation, and the rest of the world, faces is climate change. According to scientists, 39% of our nation is currently experiencing drought, more than a third of the Earth is experiencing drought and the area of drought is only expected to increase over time. By 2040, scientists expect those drought conditions to have become water shortage conditions, which means drinking water will have become difficult or worse to find as wells worldwide go dry.
Donald Trump says climate change is not happening, so he sees no need to address this issue which will, unless addressed now, deny to our posterity the world of beauty and plenty we have enjoyed in our lifetimes.
The second serious problem is that when our nation faces a challenge, the leaders we have elected to find solutions those challenges must put the welfare of our nation first, above partisan politics and personal advantage.
Donald Trump demonstrated clearly that he does not see it that way with his demand that Congress not pass legislation both Democrats and Republicans had agreed on to address the difficult immigration issues our nation faces because he felt he would have better chances of winning the election if those issues were not addressed.
Trump is not interested in seeing the problem addressed unless there is something in it for him, personally.
The third serious problem for me is character and integrity, some qualities I learned over the years that Donald Trump lacks.
I first became acquainted with the man when the book club I belonged to in South Dakota decided to review his book, “The Art of the Deal.” Before that I wasn’t aware of the man, but after that study of his book I paid attention to news reports about him and his business relationships, most of which seemed to turn out with badly for those foolish enough to participate in business ventures with him.
It says something about a man when those with the most experience with him don’t trust him, whether former business partners or former Cabinet and staff members, that’s why I pray Trump is not elected.
