Byron beats K-M in early season volleyball matchup

The Kasson-Mantorville and Byron Volleyball teams faced off last week, in a matchup featuring two teams expected to go far into the playoffs this year.
Earlier on K-M took the lead winning the first set, before Byron pulled off the nail-biter in the second set. K-M would regain the lead winning 26-24 in set three, but Byron would have the last laugh.
In the fourth set, Byron was victorious 36-34 and would win the fifth set18-16.
Key stats:
Leading the way for the KoMets was junior Aloaha Ricke who finished the game with 22 kills, 30 digs, and three aces.
Junior Anna Ask finished with 44 assists, 11 digs, and five aces, while junior Abby Baker finished the game with 37 digs, and three aces.
Senior Jacey Heidt finished the game with 37 digs, and three aces while sophomore Alexie Awe finished the game with five kills, seven digs, and an ace.
For the Bears Kailani Shroeder had five kills, two aces, 23 digs, and four blocks, while Zoe Dearborn finished the game with 23 kills, an ace, 19 digs, and a block.
Ella Nelson finished the game with six kills, an ace, 12 digs, and a block, and Addison Johnson finished the game with an ace and 25 digs.
