Support your local fire department

 
   We recently received our notice of the annual Mantorville Fire Department benefit dance that will be held over Marigold Days. I’m sure folks served by the Kasson Fire Department received something similar for the Festival in the Park weekend, and no doubt other departments in the area hold similar fund-raising events.
The volunteers in our fire departments do a tremendous service for our communities. They spend a great deal of time ensuring that both equipment and personnel are ready to handle emergencies. They deserve our gratitude and our support.
Whether you intend to attend the fundraising events or not, I encourage all to support your local volunteers by sending a donation to the fire department that serves you.
