New Byron business offers healthy energy drinks, shakes
Cindy Clayton feels great and she wants everyone else to feel the same way.
To accomplish that goal Clayton opened her new business, Healthy Starts, in Byron in January. The store features energy drinks and shakes, all healthy of course.
“My passion is to share my experiences,” she said. “My motivation is the way I feel and sharing that with people.”
Her products are “great tasting shakes, aloe, teas and energy drinks,” she said. She also has specials on Fridays, which she calls Friday Fun Shakes, healthy food preparation classes, wellness evaluations, menu planning and other programs including business appreciation events where she visits local businesses, takes along some shakes and explains what her business offers to the employees.
She has done “Paint and Shakes” at other places were she worked and had her first such event at Healthy Starts this week. She is also planning a weight loss challenge for March. The Paint and Shakes, she said, offers participants a chance to paint a picture and then try the shakes. “It’s a really good time for friends to get together,” she said.
“I like to give back to the community,” she said. “So I do business appreciations.”
Healthy Starts is located in the Byron Towne Square at 1067 4th St., Suite 550.
“It’s a really nice location,” she said.
“So many people have been so welcoming as I go around talking to people,” Clayton said. “I am really thankful businesses are so welcoming and kind.”
She added that she believes people are getting more aware of and want to take care of their bodies which makes her business a perfect one to start.
Clayton said she lives in Waseca where she worked at a similar nutrition club as well as one in Faribault. When she decided to open her own store, she said, she did not want to go north of Waseca because of other facilities in Faribault, Northfield and Farmington. Going east, towards Rochester, seemed a logical move, she said.
Healthy Starts is open six days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
