Laurie Jo Belden, 68, Dodge Center

Laurie Jo Belden, age 68, of Dodge Center, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Austin, Minn., surrounded by family.

Laurie Hanson was born on July 15, 1957, in Austin, Minn., to Roger and Jean (Johnson) Hanson. She graduated from Mayo High School in 1975. She was united in marriage to James “Jim” Belden in May of 1984. Laurie was a waitress at the Hubbell House in Mantorville and Michael’s in Rochester for many years. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, bingo, attending farmers markets, visiting the dollar store and loved helping others.

After retiring from waitressing, she began to help out local elderly get to appointments, or just simple tasks so they could stay in their homes. She was a hard worker in everything she did. She loved to care for others. Laurie and Jim enjoyed their camper at Lake Jefferson in Cleveland, Minn. She was a quiet, kind hearted person.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Jean Hanson; her husband, Jim Belden; and grandson, Nasir.

She is survived by her children, Katie (Carnell) Williamson, and Kirby Belden; grandchildren, Isaiah, Camille, Elijah, Sherissa, Jeremiah, Zarrah, Nylah, Damari; six great-grandchildren; and siblings, Linda (Mike) Stevens, and Shelley (Randy) Ferson and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for both Laurie and Jim (who passed earlier this year) will be held from 4-7 p.m.  on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 25 South Street SW in Dodge Center, Minn.
