KoMets dominate KM Invite
The Kasson-Mantorville cross country team held an invitational last week, with four KoMets crossing the finish line first.
David Obst won the race with a time of 16:30.8, Reed Grovdahl finished second with a time of 17:54.4, Kalin Anderson finished third with a time of 17:56.7, Michael Brandl finished fourth with a time of 17:56.9.
Tim Gillis finished in sixth place with a time of 18:53.1, despite running the whole race with one shoe, after someone stepped on the back of the shoe at the start of the race.
Byron’s Koren Wieme finished in 10th with a time of 19:38.5, Mathias Zoellner finished 11th with a time of 19:38.7, and Conner Esser finished 13th with a time of 19:57.7.
For the girls race, Byron runners finished third, fourth, and fifth, with Avery Warndahl running a time of 23:48, Ashlynn Mitchell finishing fourth with a time of 23:49.5, and McKenzie Schultz finishing fifth with a time of 23:55.
Lyla Bailey finished eighth with a time of 24:07.6, Ella Schneider finished 12th with a time of 25:27.4, and Lana Burr finished 19th with a time of 29:30.3 , and Destiny Avalos finished 24th with a time of 32:26.
