Kasson Casey’s set to open Oct. 17

The new Casey’s store in Kasson will be opening on Thursday, Oct. 17, with grand opening celebrations scheduled for Nov. 8 and 9, said Bobbie Groess, who was recently named manager of the store being built next to the former ShopKo.
“I’m super excited to come to Kasson,” said Groess, who is currently at the Casey’s in Stewartville. She added she moved to Kasson in September and will be at the Kasson store beginning Oct. 9 to get ready for the opening.
Groess said she has been with Casey’s for five years. She opened also opened a new store in Spring Valley and has now been training the assistant manager at Stewartville to take over management of that store.
During the grand opening in Kasson, she said, there will lots of in-store specials and free coffee for the two days as well as door prizes and special promotions.
The new store will be identical to a new Casey’s in Rochester, she said, and will have 12 fuel pumps. There will be pizzas, donuts and sub sandwiches available and tables and chairs for those who wish to enjoy their coffee and donuts inside, she said.
As a company, she said, Casey’s wants to be involved in the communities they serve and she feels the same way personally.
“We like to be involved in our communities,” she said of Casey’s, which is headquartered in Ankeny, Iowa.
“I love people,” she said, and everyone in Kasson has been super. “I love Erdman’s,” she added.
She said she is looking forward to joining the Kasson Chamber of Commerce. She is a big football fan, she said, and her plans are to attend a home Kasson-Mantorville game closer to the store opening and hand out coupons.
She also is looking forward to getting involved with the schools through a reading incentive program that Casey’s sponsors.
