Festival in the Park coming soon

August is upon us which means one thing. Kasson Festival in the Park is coming soon. 
This year’s Festival once again will feature a variety of different events for all ages, and to satisfy any different interests. 
 
Thursday, Aug. 8 
 
The first official event of Kasson Festival in The Park will start at 7 p.m. on Aug. 8 with the Miss & Master Pageant, Pie Auction, Dance Team Clinic at Kasson-Mantorville Middle School. 
 
Friday, Aug. 9 
 
Friday, Aug. 9, will kick off with a 10 a.m. tee off for the Big Cup Golf Tournament at the Zumbro Valley Golf Course. 
There will be plenty of different events at night including Windsor Chop Dinner at Kasson American Legion, from 5-7 p.m., an eating contest starting at 7 p.m., and the showing of Shrek for Movie in The Park starting at dusk. 
 
Saturday, Aug. 10 
 
Saturday, Aug. 10 is an early start for the Festival, with the  5K and 1 Mile Fun Run and Kickball Tournament starting at 8 a.m. 
The rest of the day will be filled with a variety of different activities including the pedal pull at 11 a.m., an obstacle course challenge at 1 p.m. among other events. 
At 5:30 p.m. the traditional Belly Flop Contest will take place at the Kasson Aquatic Center, and the Kasson Ambassador Ceremony will be taking place at 6:30 p.m. 
To end the night fireworks are scheduled for dusk, with a rain date set for Aug.17. 
 
Sunday, Aug. 11 
 
The last day of Festival in The Park will start off with a church service sponsored by South Zumbro Lutheran Church at 9 a.m., the grand parade at 1:30 p.m., and family entertainment starting at 3 p.m. at the firehall.
