Excitement builds for K-M FCCLA
As we kick off another exciting school year, we are thrilled to welcome back our Family, Career and Community Leaders of America chapter! FCCLA has always been a dynamic part of our school community, and this year promises to be even more exciting as we look forward to new projects, competitions, and growth opportunities. Michele Lindquist is the main advisor for this activity and Julie Hoff assists her. Lindquist states, “The most rewarding thing for me is challenging the kids and watching them grow and accomplish things beyond what they thought they were capable of.” Jenna Welch, the new middle school advisor has done an amazing job introducing and building excitement for this club to the middle school students!
For those unfamiliar, FCCLA is a national student organization that focuses on the development of leadership skills and prepares students for careers in Family and Consumer Sciences. Through hands-on experiences and engaging activities, FCCLA empowers students to become leaders in their communities and schools, while also developing important life skills such as responsibility, collaboration, and public speaking. KM will host the fall rally on Oct.10 where they will be exposed to the opportunities available to the for the year.
Kaylene Patschke is the student President and state officer for the KoMets. This year, we are particularly excited about the many projects our chapter has planned. From community service initiatives to career-focused competitions, our students will have the chance to explore their interests, challenge themselves, and make a real impact. The upcoming regional and state competitions are also a major highlight, providing members the opportunity to showcase their talents and represent our school on a larger stage. Delia Alberts, state officer, states she is most excited about the community service opportunities and hanging out with friends.
Whether you are a returning member or new to FCCLA, there are countless ways to get involved, learn something new, and contribute to the success of our chapter. We can’t wait to see what our talented group of students will achieve this year. Let’s make it a fantastic year for FCCLA, full of leadership, service, and fun!
