Epilepsy Awareness Fundraiser at K-M
On Saturday, October 7 Kasson-Mantorville held their 7th Annual Epilepsy Awareness and Fundraiser Soccer Game Day! This year Cotter Schools participated in the day by playing games and purchasing t-shirts. The JV and Varsity soccer teams took a picture between the Boys Varsity and Girls Varsity games.
This event has proven a great opportunity for the boys’ and girls’ soccer programs to work in conjunction with one another and others to shine a light on the challenges of epilepsy, to bring multiple schools and programs together for a day of awesome soccer and fun, and to raise money for the Southeast Minnesota Epilepsy Foundation.
Seven years ago, the girls’ soccer program began an Epilepsy awareness/fundraiser event in honor of Hannah Soderberg. Hannah is the daughter of K-M’s, long-standing and former head coach, Chris Soderberg. Although Coach Soderberg has officially “retired” from coaching after 22 years at K-M, the event continues!
Through t-shirts sale, goalie shoot-out, the bleacher bucket runs, and silent auction donations, more than $3,000 was raised for the Southeast Minnesota Epilepsy Foundation with Cotter’s help. Kasson-Mantorville soccer programs want to extend their thanks to the Cotter players and fans for supporting this Awareness and Fundraiser event.
