Early voting in Byron, K-M begins Sept. 19
Voters in the Byron, Kasson-Mantroville, and Triton school districts will be making their way to the polls on Nov. 4 for special elections.
But before then, they will have the chance to vote early beginning on Sept. 19.
Byron
Byron voters will decide whether to add a per pupil operating levy.
Question 1 asks for a $700 per pupil operating levy. Question 2, a technology levy, would generate $250,000 annually. Passage of Question 2 depends on voters approving Question 1.
The average value of a home in Byron is $350,000, and for that resident, passage of Question 1 would mean a property tax increase of $36 a month. Passage of Question 2 would cost the same homeowner $3.75 a month.
Early voting happens at the school district office at 801 Frontage Rd. NW, between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and until 7 p.m. on Oct. 2, 9, 13, 28, and 30.
Kasson-Mantorville
Kasson-Mantorville voters will be picking the seventh member of the school board. The seat was vacated when Amy Olson resigned from her position shortly after being re-elected.
Former school board member Angie Richards was selected to fill the seat until a new board member is elected.
On the ballot are Albert Brand, Denise Heidt, Sarah Stender, and Jerrod Kappers.
Voters can vote early by going to the District Office located at 101 16th St NE, Kasson, fro Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Voters in the Triton school district will vote on a Capital Project Levy that will raise approximately $650,000 annually, starting in 2026. The levy would be authorized for 10 years.
The estimated total cost of the projects funded by the levy over the 10 years will be approximately $6,500,000. Funds will be used for acquisition, installation, replacement and maintenance of software and devices; improved technology, technology systems, networks, infrastructure, office and instruction technology; to pay the cost of related personnel and training; acquisition of curriculum and textbooks; deferred maintenance; and the acquisition of replacement school buses and other transportation devices.
