Drop-off Day for reusable items May 31

Dodge County Renovation ReUse will have a Drop Off Day this Saturday, May 31, from 8 a.m. to noon at their facility 62770 240th St., Kasson. Renovation ReUse is a Dodge County operation to provide a facility filled with good reusable materials available for all community members at an affordable purchase price and to keep items out of landfills.
All proceeds from sales and drop off fees go to keep the building sustainable and with staff and be there for the community, said Rita Cole, Dodge County Environmental Services and Dodge County Renovation ReUse Waste Management Administrator.
Cole said that all items must be in working condition. “Do not bring items you would not buy yourself in its current condition,” she said.
Among the acceptable items are sporting goods — bikes, golf clubs, skis, kayaks; workable exercise equipment; furniture in good condition with no rips, tears or stains; kitchen items including cabinets, sinks, countertops, fixtures, hardware; household items — at staff discretion; tools -power tools must work’; outdoor toys; bathroom vanities, fixtures, sinks, accessories, tubs; usable building materials, partial boxes OK; lighting and fixtures; windows and doors; flooring and wall coverings, new/part boxes OK; kitchenware items.
Items that are not accepted include clothing/textiles/shoes; damaged/non-working items; mattresses/box springs; ammunition; paint; hazardous waste; electronic waste; particle board furniture; items with peeling paint; outdated or fluorescent lighting; cribs, strollers, infant items; items or furniture with rips/stains or are fading; used carpet; entertainment centers/TV stands/desks; pianos or large musical instruments.
To reach the Renovation ReUse building from Kasson go north on 8th Avenue NW. Just past the creek/tree line to the right there is a ReUse Center sign; turn right and follow the gravel road. From Mantorville, go south past the Transfer Station. Before the tree line/creek and north of Kasson the ReUse Center sign will be on the left.
