Dodge County Public Health senior listening session in Hayfield
Dodge County Public Health is seeking feedback from community members on the health of the county. Every five years, each local health department around the country goes through a process of learning about the health needs of the communities they serve. This process is called the Community Health Assessment (CHA).
After learning what gaps there are in the community, Dodge County Public Health then creates an action plan to help fill those gaps for the community members. This is called the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). Public Health is in the learning phase of the CHA-CHIP process and is asking for the community’s assistance in telling them what you need to live your healthiest lives in Dodge County!
Public health is hosting a series of listening sessions throughout the community. They will ask for certain populations to attend some of the sessions, because they know that different populations have different health needs. A senior listening session is scheduled for Thursday, February 29, from 2-4 p.m. at Uncle Mony’s/Spare Time Lanes in Hayfield. This is for Dodge County residents 55 years of age or older.
There will be more sessions open to others from the community. Free refreshments will be provided to participants. Registering in advance is encouraged (but not required) by calling the Public Health office at (507) 635-6150. The staff wants to learn from the community areas where improvements can be made.
