DC hockey girls play tough holiday tourney

MINNEAPOLIS — The Dodge County girls competed in the Blake High School Crosstown Cup Tournament on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, December 27, 28, 29. It was a successful venture for the Wildcats, as they went 2-1 on the tourney, against some very formidable competition. On Wednesday, DC fell to Centennial/Spring Lake Park, 3-1. The loss was just the Cats’ second of the season, against 11 wins. Day two of the action found Dodge County besting Breck, 6-2. The No. 6-ranked Wildcats jumped out to a quick lead and didn’t look back. They led 3-1 after one period and 5-2 after two. Finishing the tourney in good measure, the Dodge County girls out-lasted Gentry Academy, 3-1, on Friday, punctuating a great performance on the ice.
