Claremont Hogfest gets underway on Friday

It’s the first weekend in August, which means it is time for Claremont’s Hogfest celebration.
The weekend gets underway downtown on Friday, August 1, at 5 p.m., when Beer Garden sales begin and the food vendors open their stands. Garden tractor pulls begin at 6 p.m., as does the kids scavenger hunt from 6 to 7 p.m.
The Old Country Boys will perform from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Hogfest resumes at 8 a.m. on Saturday, with breakfast burritos and a bake sale at the Pavillion from 8 to 11 a.m. The Antique Tractor Pulls begin at 9 a.m., with rolls and coffee available in that area beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Beer sales will begin at 10 a.m.
The Gochnauer Farms Petting Zoo will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and there will be face painting from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Food vendors will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The Bean Bag Tournament begins at 12 p.m., with the Silent Auction under the tent from 1 to 6 p.m. The annual Sweet Corn & Pork Feed will be from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Pavillion.
At 5 p.m., there will be horse races at the Claremont Pub. A foam party is scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m.
There will be a Kids Pedal Pull at 6 p.m., with registration at 5:30 p.m.
The day concludes with live music by the Non Prophets from 7 to 11 p.m.
Sunday will feature rolls and coffee at Harmer Park at 7:30 a.m. The TYFSA Venom 10U softball tournament starts at 8.m. at Harmer Park.
There will be a Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the American Legion.
Car show registration starts at 8 a.m. and continues until 10 a.m. The Car, Bike and Antique Tractor show runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The food trucks will open at 9 a.m., with the beer sales starting at 10 a.m. and continuing until 2 p.m.
There will be musical entertainment by the Rockin’ Hep Cats from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The parade will start at 1:30 p.m. followed by the Fireman’s Water Fights on Main Street to close out the weekend.
