Byron XC competes against best at Faribault Invite

The Byron girls cross country team faced some of the best competition it will see all season, last week at the Faribault Invite, according to Head Coach Tom O’Leary.
“Our girls really stepped up to the challenge with 6 of them setting Personal Records and nearly everyone setting a Season Best,” he wrote following the meet.
O’Leary noted all six of the top runners for Byron finished within 20 seconds of each other “r giving us an optimistic view about the progress of this team.”
“We are looking forward to making some noise as the season continues,” he said.
For the junior high team, Dayna Baune won the meet with a time of 9:27 in the 2400 meter course.
“She’ll race Jr Varsity this week in Byron and is working toward earning a Varsity spot,” O’Leary said.
