Byron gymnastics  finishes second at Section meet

The Byron gymnastics team fell just short in its quest for another trip to state, after coming in second at the Section 1AA meet.
Winona/Cotter finished with 141.375 points, Byron with 140.675, and Kasson-Mantorville/Triton/Stewartville with 135 points.
In the all-around, Eleanor Smith came in second for the KoMeTS, and Syndey Portner came in third.
For the vault, Olivia O’Brien came in first for Byron, and Norah Brown from Byron came in second.
Smith won the floor event, as well as the beam. Portner came in second on beam.
Smith qualified to represent Kasson-Mantorville/Triton/Stewartville at the state meet in the All Around.
Qualifying for Byron were O’Brien, Brown, and Portner. O’Brien will be competing in the vault, bars, beam, and floor. Brown will be competing in the vault and beam. Portner will be competing in the vault, bars, beam, and floor events.
