Byron boys soccer picks up key road victories

The Byron Boys soccer team went 2-0 on the road last week taking on Waseca and Stewartville.
In its first game against Waseca Senior Captain, Jaxon Boynton scored within the first 30 seconds putting the Bears up 1-0. Brady Boyken and Ryan Hartman would also score in the first half putting Byron up 3-0.
Midfielder Jackson Fink began the second half with a goal and Hartman scored his second goal of the game. Beckett Schramm and Jack Ende both scored their first goals of their first varsity careers, in the 7-0 victory.
Goalkeeper Nate Cadwell had five saves in the shutout.

In the matchup against Stewartville, Head Coach Dave Bahr, said the Bears faced off against a tough team.
“Stewartville is loaded with many dangerous attacking players including left wing Lucas Yennie and center midfielder Colton Kropp,” Bahr said.
Rester once again scored quickly however scoring once again within 30 seconds, which ended up being the only goal of the half.
Early in the second half Sophomore Caden Anderson scored on a loose ball to put the Bears up 2-0.
Stewartville would answer, with two goals of its own to tie the game before Brady Boyken scored what would be the game winner.
Goalkeeper Jackson Ihrke had five saves in the game.
Byron is now 4-1-2 to start the season in what Bahr called “one of its most promising starts over the past few years.”
