BREAKING NEWS: Train versus car crash leads to felony charges

Scott Peder Olson Jr. was arrested on Monday, Feb. 18 after his vehicle collided with a train in Dodge County.
According to the complaint, a Dodge County deputy was dispatched to a vehicle versus train crash in Dodge Center, where the driver of the vehicle fled the scene.
After observing the vehicle in the ditch, the deputy made contact with the conductor who told him that the driver had ran northbound.
Another deputy and a Kasson officer, joined the deputy in the search for Olson. Fresh footprints were observed and followed, which led to Olson, who was laying in snow between two drifts.
After searching Olson , a deputy found two glass stems that NIK tested positive for meth, a mini torch, and $1,155.50 in cash.
Olson, told deputies that he had smoked meth the day prior to the accident. Olson admitted to being the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash and that he had no driver’s license and four outstanding warrants in Goodhue County.
He was charged with one 5th degree felony drug possession charge.
