BREAKING NEWS: Large ice dam being monitored in Dodge County

Dodge County officials are monitoring a large ice dam that could potentially cause damage to people along the path.
The dam is located just south of Berne on the Middle Fork of the Zumbro River. The dam is just west of the Highway 57 bridge that has backed up a large amount of water on the river.
“The concern is when the ice dam breaks loose, a large amount of water will get pushed down the Zumbro River towards Pine Island,” said Sheriff Scott Rose. “This water could affect homes and/or properties along County Road 24 all the way into Pine Island.”
MnDOT and Olmsted County have been notified about the concern and are also monitoring the situation.
Rose urges people who live along the area to be aware of the potential for fast rising water on the Zumbro River when this ice dam breaks free sometime Friday.
