BREAKING NEWS: Judge sticks with plea deal in distracted driving case

Dodge County District Court Judge Jodi Williamson sentenced a distracted driver to jail time and probation in a case that killed two people last year.
Tanner Kruckeberg will spend 30 days in jail every year for five years near the anniversary of the crash that took place on Hwy. 14 near Claremont in September 2018. Judge Williamson also sentenced Kruckeberg to 10 years probation. He was remanded to the Dodge County Sheriff after Wednesday’s sentencing to begin his sentence in the Steele County Detention Center in Owatonna.
Kruckeberg is responsible for killing a Blooming Prairie school teacher and her 8-year-old daughter while they were heading to school during the first week of classes in 2018. Rachel Harberts and her daughter Emerson died in the crash while her son Jaxon was critically injured.
Judge Williamson stuck with the terms of the plea deal struck back in September.
