BREAKING NEWS: Accused killer back in Minnesota jail

A Dodge County woman accused of murdering her husband is back in a Minnesota jail.
On Friday, Lois Riess of rural Blooming Prairie was booked into the Steele County Detention Center in Owatonna. Booking records show she is being held on Dodge County warrants for theft, first-degree murder and second-degree murder.
It’s unknown when she will appear in Dodge County District Court. 
Riess is suspected of killing her husband, David Riess, in their rural Blooming Prairie home in March 2018. After the Minnesota murder, she fled to Florida where she is believed to have killed a look-alike woman. She has been in a Florida jail since her arrest in Texas shortly after the Florida murder. In December, she pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for the Florida killing.
The COVID-19 pandemic delayed the Minnesota court case as Riess had been scheduled to come back earlier this spring. Because of safety reasons, Dodge County officials delayed bringing Riess back to Minnesota.
The Minnesota Attorney General’s Office is handling prosecution of the case.
