Baseball Bears win 1, lose 1

Will Brian drove in four runs to lead Byron past Cannon Falls, 8-2, on Thursday, May 16. He homered, doubled, and singled, in the Bears’ victory. Saturday, the Byron boys fell to Rochester Lourdes, 5-4, on the last play of the game. In good, old-fashioned walk-off style, an Eagles batter singled in the bottom of the seventh, plating the winning run.

ROCHESTER — On Wednesday, May 15, Owen Janssen drove in three runs as John Marshall topped Byron, 7-3, in non-conference play. Janssen hit a two-run single during a three-run bottom of the fifth inning, as the Rockets extended their lead from 3-2 to 6-2. Mason Konz earned the win, as he allowed three runs, two earned, on five hits over the first six innings. Dylan Klomps went 1 for 2 with two RBI for Byron (9-7).

KoMet baseball falls short
The Kasson-Mantorville baseball team lost a 4-3 thriller to Lake City on Thursday, May 16. Despite out-hitting the Tigers, 8-4, the KoMets just couldn’t overcome Lake City’s early 4-2 lead.
