Anderson wins KM XC Invitational
Kasson-Mantorville High School sophomore Kalin Anderson won the Kasson-Mantorville Cross Country Invitational last week, running a time of 18:24.4.
Not far behind Anderson was freshman Michael Brandl who ran the course in 18:52, which was good enough for fourth overall. Begin Brandl was freshman Reed Grovdahl who finished fifth with a time of 18:54.8. Sophomore Nick Halverson rounded out the top 10 overall, finishing the race with a time of 20:22.5.
For the girl’s team, sophomore Cassidy Dillon finished second overall, with a time of 23:37.4. Finishing fifth was freshman Lyla Bailey who finished the race with a time of 24:42.2. Other finishers included junior Lana Burr who finished with a time of 29:54.4 seventh grader Vera Burke finished 16 overall with a time of 30:33.5, and freshman Nora Smith finished 17 overall with a time of 30:37.
Triton, Hayfield Runs At Blooming Prairie
The Triton Cobras competed in Blooming Prairie last week, with Head Coach Shelly Bungum noting it was a “very wind night” at the meet.
But overall Bungum said the team “ran great.”
“They were a bit unhappy with their times but happy with their places,” she said.
Sophomore Autumn Froyum finished seventh overall with a time of 24:22.1, and seventh grader Adriana Kunz finished 12 overall with a time of 25:57.1.
For the boy’s team, Sophomore Angel Mata-Colin finished sixth overall with a time of 20:37.6, and freshman Elijah Okeefe finished ninth overall with a time of 21:12.3.
Also competing at the meet was Hayfield, with junior Steven Gillette finishing 18 overall with a time of 23:42, and senior Josh Gillespie finished 26 overall with a time of 27:06.
Byron Runsat Mayo Invite
The Byron boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Mayo Invite, last week, with sophomore Kylea Garas leading the team with a time of 22:19.2, which was good enough for 34 overall.
Sophomore Avery Warndahl finished 38 overall with a time of 22:24, freshman McKenzie Schultz finished 45 overall with a time of 22:44, while freshman Alexa Charboneau with a time of 23:12.1, and freshman Ashlynn Mitchell finished 55 overall with a time of 23:19.6.
For the men’s team freshman Koren Wieme finished 57 overall, with a time of 18:28.9, freshman Mathias Zoellner finished 69 overall with a time of 18:57.9, freshman Westley Burrows finished 18:58.7, and senior Zachary Pieper finished 93 overall with a time of 19:28.9.
