10th annual epilepsy awareness fundraiser set for Sept. 27
The Kasson-Mantorville girls soccer program will once again host its epilepsy awareness and fundraiser event on Sept. 27.
The event, which is in its 10th year, was created to honor Hannah Soderberg, the daughter of former coach Chris Soderberg.
She has lived with epilepsy since she was five.
“Although Coach Soderberg officially ‘retired’ from coaching after 22 years at the end of the 2021 season, this event remains an important part of the K-M Soccer Programs’ efforts to not only develop young athletes but also to develop overall character and value in taking an active role in one’s community,” event organizers said, in prepared remarks submitted for last year’s event
Games on Sept. 27 against Northfield will begin at 10 a.m., with the girls C Squad playing on east field, and the girls JV team playing on the turf.
At noon, the JV boys team will be playing on east field, and the girls varsity team will be playing on the turf.
The boys varsity team will be playing on the turf at 2 p.m., and the boys C squad will be playing on the East Field.
There will also be a silent auction from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Seizures can take many different forms, including whole-body convulsions/shaking or changes in awareness or behavior.
Where the seizure occurs in the brain determines what the seizure looks like.
Seizures can last from a few seconds to several minutes.
