Triton boys win Sub-Section meet

The boys Triton Track and Field team won the Section 1A — Sub-Section 2 meet last week.
In the 100 meter Triton’s Pierce Petersohn ran a 11.48 to win the race, with Garet Jensen 11.87 to come in second.
Hayfield’s Easton Johnson finished third in the 100 meter with a time of 12.10, and Triton’s Christian Valdez Miranda Jr finished fifth with a time of 12.21.

Triton BPA members secure National Runner-Up and Finalist spots

Triton High School’s Business Professionals of Amera (BPA) chapter continued to shine at the 2025 National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida from May 7-11, where six of the 13 students who won trips claimed the title of National Finalist, and Abigail Wirkus walked away as a National Runner-Up in Health Administration Procedures.

FIRST PLACE FINISH

Pierce Petersohn won the High Jump last week for Triton at the Tiger Invite last week clearing 6 feet.

Finney resigns as Byron basketball coach

After taking the team to the high school state tournament again this year Byron Boys Basketball Coach Kyle Finney has resigned from his post.
The resignation was accepted during the April 21 School Board meeting.
Finney did not respond to an email request for comment for this story.

Hayfield defeats WEM

The Hayfield softball team defeated Waterville-Elysian-Morristown 11-6 last week.
Hayfield took a 3-1 lead after scoring three in the bottom half of the first inning.
After scoring two more in the bottom of the second with WEM scoring one in the top of the third.
Hayfield responded with three more runs in the bottom half of the inning and then another in the bottom of the fourth.

Byron softball defeats Zumbrota-Mazeppa

After trailing early the Byron softball team defeated Zumbrota-Mazeppa 13-6 last week.
Z-M took a 3-0 lead after scoring three in the bottom of the first inning.
After holding Byron scoreless for the first three innings Byron would go on to score seven in the top of the fourth to take a 7-3 lead.

Triton defeats NRHEG

The Triton baseball team played in only one game the past week defeating NRHEG 19-15.
Mason Bills had four hits and four RBIs in the game, Cohen McNeilus had three hits including a double, and Austin Scanlan had three hits in the game.
