A School of Excellence

The hard work had been already done when Nick Jurrens took over as principal at Triton Elementary last summer. His predecessor successfully coordinated all the grunt work for a top state honor, leaving Jurrens with the easy job of putting on a party to celebrate.

Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose said Saturday night that a student from Triton School has been arrested and transported to a juvenile holding facility in Rochester after allegedly making threats regarding the school.

K-M honors Teacher of the Year

Alecia Meline was surprised to see family members gathered March 31 at her place of business.
That would be Kasson-Mantorville Elementary School, where Me-line has taught first graders for nine years.

K-M hosts band concert

Kasson-Mantorville High School’s jazz, symphonic and concert bands joined Chamber ensembles March 14 in a band concert in the KMHS Performing Arts Center. 
The musicians, under the direction of Anthony Boldt, played songs ranging from “Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most (featuring the Jazz Band’s trombone section),” “Sir Duke,” and “Quad City Stomp,” to “Kirkpatrick Fanfare,” “Walden,” and “St. Louis Blues.”

D.A.R.E. graduation well-attended

The parking lot at the Kasson-Mantorville middle school was almost full the afternoon of March 17 as proud parents came to see 178 fifth graders receive certificates of achievement for completing the D.A.R. E. program.
 

Go, STEVE, Go!

At first it’s difficult to see them in the video: a bunch of Kasson-Mantorville High School students swarming with dozens more students from Minnesota schools at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center.
It’s a frenzy of activity. Machines are whirling around on a stage.
And then it happens.
STEVE climbs a rope. And the K-M crew goes wild, jumping up and down in elation.

K-M HOSA State Officers Appointed

The Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) fall conference was held in Bloomington, Minn., the weekend of Nov. 12, where about 25 K-M HOSA students participated alongside some 300 students from around the state, taking part in health-related sessions and activities intended to raise awareness and interest in a range of health care professions and practices.
