BREAKING NEWS: Fatality in Dodge County
An early morning crash has claimed at least one life in Dodge County.
The crash happened around 5:40 a.m. on Highway 218 south of Blooming Prairie in Westfield Township.
The State Patrol says a Toyota Camry was southbound on Hwy. 218 when it collided with a northbound vehicle. The Camry caught on fire.
Assisting at the scene were Steele, Dodge and Mower sheriff’s offices.
No names have been released at this time.

Breaking News Update: Names released in fatal crash
The State Patrol has identified the names of the victims involved in Friday morning’s crash outside of Blooming Prairie.
Keith Prescott Crape, 27, of Austin died instantly in the crash. The patrol said he was not wearing his seat belt and that it is unknown at this time if alcohol was involved.
The other driver was identified as Oscar Agustin Perez Morales, 44, of Austin. He was transported to a hospital in Austin with non-life threatening injuries. The patrol said he was wearing his seat belt and no alcohol was involved.
The patrol reported that the roads were snow and ice covered at the time of the crash.
