Baseball, painting, and an announcement

Baseball, painting, and a unique baby announcement.
I’ve been trying new things as of late, so last week’s adventure found us at the St. Paul Saints game.
This is often our go-to date night, because, well, baseball is the best.
But we happened to stumble upon a sip and paint night and decided to give it a shot.
I have had issues with fine motor skills since birth, so painting is not something I am very good at, but the gentleman teaching the class made it very clear that it was about having fun.
The tables were four-person high tops, so we ended up having one of the entertainers for the Saints game join us, which gave us the chance to learn about some behind-the-scenes insights.
I am really intrigued by how much fun it must be to have a part-time gig working for a minor league ballpark. My dream job would be to work part-time as a PA announcer or something.
After a fun hour of painting and enjoying free pop and appetizers, it was time to do what is necessary at any event in 2025, take photos.
A group behind us asked for us to take their photo. We learned one of the people was pregnant and had painted on her canvas that she was having a child. What a fun way to announce your pregnancy!
My first question to her, since I am a wise you-know-what was,“ Does the father know or are you announcing this to him too?”
There were a lot of laughs.
It was a fun night, with plenty of new stuff, including seeing a pregnancy announcement on a canvas.
Could it get any more neat?
One of my best friends since the first day of college is the strength and conditioning coach for the Houston Astros AA team, and I get notifications on my phone of how his team is doing, along with my beloved Red Sox and the Saints. I think we all know how the Twins are doing.
While we were watching the game, I noticed that they were playing the AA Saints team, what a coincidence.
The moral of the story? Go try something new. Even if you’re not good at it, you will still have a good time!
